NOPD Arrests Four on Drug Charges on Bourbon Street

NOPD Arrests Four on Drug Charges on Bourbon Street

NOPD officers arrested four individuals on December 29, 2017 after they were found to have been in possession of numerous types of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.

At about 2:40 a.m., Eighth District Bourbon Street Promenade officers were flagged down and requested to respond to a report of an intoxicated patron who refused to leave an establishment in the 240 block of Bourbon Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male subject later identified as Jerry Myrick (DOB: 05-02-1976) was the reported individual. Officers arrested Myrick on a charge of trespassing.

A subsequent search of Myrick revealed him to be in possession of a large amount of cash, a cell phone, a secondary pre-paid cell phone and a small bag of about 15 pills that tested positive for amphetamine. Statements made by Myrick to officers to believe that Myrick was possession of additional controlled dangerous substances inside his hotel room.

Based on this evidence, officers obtained a search warrant for Myrick’s hotel room in the 300 block of Bourbon Street. Upon execution of the search warrant, officers discovered additional items including:

  • A bag of rock crystal that tested positive as opioids
  • A large bag of material that tested positive as psychedelic mushrooms
  • A container of vegetative material that tested positive for marijuana
  • Five cookies that tested positive for containing marijuana
  • 3 vapor cartridges containing a liquid that tested positive for THC
  • A container of a powdered substance that tested positive for heroine
  • Five pills that tested positive for amphetamine
  • A large amount of cash

In addition to the aforementioned items, three additional individuals were found to be inside of the hotel room. The individuals were identified as Jaclyn Meshako (DOB: 02-24-1993), Leah Armstrong (DOB: 01-30-1989) and Jay Dee Ashley (DOB: 12-04-1969).

Myrick was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on the aforementioned trespassing charge, as well as on a charge of possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.

The three subjects found in the hotel room were arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
