NOPD Searches for Subject Wanted for Second District Shooting

The NOPD is seeking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying a suspect in the investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting that occurred in the early hours today (February 25, 2020) in the 4000 block of South Derbigny Street.

At about 4:09 a.m., the victim reportedly came upon a vehicle burglary in progress of his own vehicle. While inside of the vehicle, the pictured alleged perpetrator produced a firearm and reportedly shot the victim before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The perpetrator was described to be an unknown black male approximately in his 20s with a thin stature, dark complexion and twist hair style which possibly contained blonde tips.
