NOPD Arrests Juvenile Suspects Found in Possession of Handgun, Stolen Vehicle in Seventh District

The NOPD arrested two 17-year-old juvenile male suspects on February 4, 2020 after they were found to be in possession of a handgun and a stolen vehicle.

At about 1:30 p.m., Seventh District officers observed two juvenile males in the 4900 block of Flake Street driving in a vehicle that was found to have been reported as stolen. Upon observing the officers, the suspects exited the vehicle and fled into the neighborhood on foot. A perimeter was established, during which officers located both subjects. One of the subjects was also found to be in possession of a handgun, which did not register as having being reported stolen.

The suspects were arrested and booked into the Juvenile Justice Center for possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a moveable. In addition, the juvenile found in possession of the handgun was additionally charged accordingly.

As the arrested subjects are juveniles, their names and photos will not be included in this release.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070
