NOPD Investigating Homicide in Seventh District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this evening (February 15, 2026) in the 13500 block of Granville Street, in the Seventh District.

At about 5:46 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of a shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a scene, but no victims were at the location. Shortly thereafter, officers received notification of four gunshot wound victims arriving via private conveyance between two different hospitals – three arriving to one hospital and the fourth victim arriving to a separate hospital. One of the three victims at the first hospital was later pronounced deceased. At that time, the signal was changed to a homicide.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the deceased victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.

Anyone with additional information that can assist in this investigation is urged to contact NOPD Homicide Section detectives at 504-658-5300.
