NOPD Arrests Juvenile Suspect in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD has arrested a 16-year-old juvenile black male (not pictured) on a manslaughter charge in the investigation of a homicide on February 12, 2022 in the 10000 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

At about 9:43 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male and an adult female who had both sustained gunshot wounds. The victims were transported via EMS to a local hospital. The female victim was later pronounced deceased. On February 15, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the deceased victim as 66-year-old Pamela Parish and had ruled her death to be a homicide.

Through the course of investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified the juvenile male as the perpetrator in this incident and obtained an arrest warrant on one charge of manslaughter.

The juvenile was located and arrested on February 24 and booked accordingly into the Juvenile Justice Intervention Center.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Homicide Det. Maggie Darling at 504-658-5300.
