The NOPD is investigating a fatal vehicle crash that occurred today (February 21, 2021) on Interstate 10 West just before Chef Menteur Highway and claimed the life of one victim.
At about 7:33 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of a vehicle crash at the location. Upon arrival and further investigation, it was determined that a white Honda Accord traveling westbound on the interstate left the roadway for unknown reasons, struck a tree and came to rest along a fence. The sole occupant of the vehicle, an adult female, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was declared deceased at the scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner will officially identify the victim in this incident upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
