NOPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in the Sixth District

NOPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in the Sixth District

New Orleans - The NOPD is investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another wounded at the intersection of Washington and Loyola Avenues. 

At around 5:08 p.m., NOPD Sixth District officers were called to the location for an aggravated battery by shooting.   Upon arrival, officers found two men suffering with gunshot wound(s).  One man died at the scene, and the other was transported to the hospital where he is in stable condition.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. 

No additional details are available at this time.  The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
