NOPD Investigates Second District Homicide

NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred in the Second District.

The incident occurred around 3:19 p.m., in the 3700 block of South Claiborne Avenue.

The adult male victim was at the location when the perpetrator(s) parked along side his vehicle. One unknown subject exited the vehicle and fired multiple gunshots, striking the victim.

The victim died at the scene.

Investigators are in the process of gathering information that will help them identify a person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No further information is available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
