NOPD Identifies Suspect Wanted in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Jamon Edwards (pictured, male, DOB: 04-21-1992) in the investigation of a homicide on January 20, 2021 in the 1600 block of France Street.

At about 9:54 a.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim inside of a residence having sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified Edwards as the perpetrator in this incident. Edwards is wanted on one count of second-degree murder.
