NOPD Investigating a Homicide in First District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide today (February 28, 2019) in the 1300 block of Ursulines Avenue.

Just before noon, NOPD First District officers responded to a call of an unclassified death at the location. Upon arrival, officers learned that staff at the location discovered an unknown white male subject lying in a bed and unresponsive. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Upon further investigation, the incident was reclassified as a homicide by cutting.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive. No further details are available at this time

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and official cause of death, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
