NOPD is investigating a homicide that took place at the intersection of Piper Lane and East Filmore Avenue.
Today, February 26, 2019 at around 6:21 p.m., Seventh district officers were dispatched to the location to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting. Upon arrival, they found an unidentified adult male lying in the street. The victim was suffering from a gunshot wound(s) to the head and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will release the victim's name and the official cause of death.
