NOPD Searching for First District Bicycle Thief

The NOPD is searching for a subject who stole a bicycle locked to a stop sign in the First District.

 

Surveillance video showing the theft of the bicycle can be seen here.

 

The victim told police that he locked his bike to a stop sign pole on Sunday, February 4, 2018 around 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Treme and Governor Nicholls streets.

 

The victim then told police that when he returned he discovered his bicycle had been stolen.

 

The victim then told police that the stop sign and one way sign atop the pole were both found on the ground near the pole.

 

A large pair of locking pliers were also found near the pole.
