NOPD Arrests Suspect for Alleged Threats Made Against School
The NOPD today (February 21, 2018) arrested Janero Copelin (DOB: 07-08-1999) for allegedly making threatening statements against a local school.
 
At about 1 p.m., Fifth District detectives learned of a post made to social media site Instagram which contained threatening content toward the staff and student body of Martin Luther King Jr. High School, located at 5300 North Rocheblave Street.
 
During the course of investigation, detectives were able to positively identify Copelin as the individual who posted the threatening content. Detectives then located Copelin and, during an interview with him, learned that Copelin had allegedly posted the message to intimidate a specific person that attended the school.
 
Based on evidence and Copelin’s statement to detectives, Copelin was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for terrorizing,
