VOWS Unit Arrests 34 in Pre-Mardi Gras Fugitive Round-up

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) has arrested 34 individuals for 54 offenses as part of the 2017 Mardi Gras Fugitive Round-up. The unit worked with HANO Police, Louisiana State Police, the U.S. Marshals and Louisiana Probation and Parole on the arrests, which were made January 29 - February 11, 2017.

 

Matthew Magrini (DOB:  9/16/1982) for vehicular homicide. The incident occurred at the intersection of Washington Avenue and South Broad Street on March 12, 2016, and Magrini was apprehended in the 2700 block of Tulane Avenue in cooperation with HANO Police.

 

Romona Molizone (DOB: 7/26/1984) for aggravated battery by cutting incident that took place in the 6900 block of Boston Drive on January 24, 2017. She was apprehended in cooperation with HANO Police.

 

Cuong Nguyen (DOB:  6/22/1978) for simple robbery and simple battery. Nguyen was apprehended at Dwyer Road and Bullard Avenue for an incident in that occurred in the 2700 block of Canal Street on January 14, 2017. He was also arrested for a probation violation.

 

Malinda Wright (DOB: 2/27/1987) for simple robbery in the 12000 block of I-10 Service Road. Wright was wanted for an incident that took place in the 1000 block of Loyola Avenue on August 21, 2016, and she was apprehended in cooperation with the U.S. Marshals.

 

Deneka Marcel (DOB: 6/6/1993) for an aggravated battery incident in the 3300 block of Garden Oaks Drive on January 11, 2017. Marcel was arrested in the 1800 block of Thalia Street in cooperation with the Louisiana State Police and HANO Police.

 

Grant Welt (DOB: 8/23/1995) for second degree rape at the University of New Orleans campus. He was arrested in cooperation with the U.S. Marshals and UNO Police.

 

Daniel Kudryashov (DOB:  5/27/1997) for sexual battery. The incident occurred in the 6300 block of St. Charles Avenue on November 19, 2016, and Kudryashov was apprehended in the 3000 block of Indiana Avenue in Kenner, Louisiana.

 

Quincy Taylor (DOB: 3/17/1985) for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and a probation violation. The incident occurred in the 14700 block of Chef Menteur Highway on January 11, 2017. Taylor was arrested in the 2700 block of Tulane Avenue.

 

Jamar Lewis, Jr. (DOB: 1/16/1994) for aggravated assault with a firearm for an incident in the 2400 block of Piety Street on January 2, 2017.  Lewis was arrested in the 4500 block of Viola Street and apprehended in cooperation with Louisiana State Police.  

 

Henry Lucien (DOB: 8/12/1977) for aggravated assault and simple battery incident that took place at the intersection of Berhman Highway and Idaho Street on January 3, 2017. Lucien was apprehended in the 2900 block of Potomac Street and was also arrested for a fugitive attachment from Jefferson Parish. He was apprehended in cooperation with Louisiana State Police and HANO Police.

 

Jared Lorentz (DOB: 8/18/1992) for illegal discharge of a weapon and simple criminal damage to property. Lorentz was wanted in connection to an incident in the 7000 block of Orleans Avenue that took place on January 17, 2017, and he was apprehended in cooperation with Louisiana State Police and HANO Police.

 

Felicia Harper (DOB: 2/17/1991) on a count capias for aggravated battery and for a municipal simple battery charge.  She was arrested in the 500 block of Camp Street in cooperation with the U.S. Marshals.

 

Antonio Hughes (DOB: 11/20/1996) for Second Degree Battery.  Hughes was wanted for an incident that took place on January 25, 2017, in the 4800 block of Allen Street and he was apprehended in cooperation with Louisiana State Police.

 

Christopher Butler (DOB: 5/15/1989) for attempted murder. The incident occurred in the 5900 block of Tullis Drive on November 18, 2016, and Butler was apprehended in the 2700 block of Tulane Avenue.

 

Jonas Bruce (DOB: 11/12/1984) for attempted murder and aggravated assault with a firearm. The incident occurred in the 10400 block of Castlewood Drive on January 28, 2017. Bruce was also arrested for domestic aggravated assault and domestic battery for a November 15, 2016, incident in the 14000 block of Chef Menteur Highway, and for a fugitive attachment for domestic battery and cruelty to a juvenile from Baton Rouge. He was apprehended in cooperation with Louisiana State Police and HANO Police.

 

James Jefferson (DOB:  9/1/1991) for aggravated battery by cutting. The incident occurred at the intersection of Canal and Elk streets on November 24, 2016, and Jefferson was apprehended in the 4600 block of New Orleans Street in cooperation with the U.S. Marshals.

 

Bryant Banks (DOB: 10/26/1989) for second degree battery, aggravated assault with a firearm and being a felon in possession of firearm. The incident occurred in the 1600 block of North Villere Street on February 2, 2017. Banks was apprehended in the 1800 block of North Miro Street in cooperation with HANO Police.

 

Glen Stevenson (DOB: 4/23/1966) for two counts of aggravated battery and one count of simple battery. The incident took place on April 4, 2016, and Stevenson was apprehended in the 6000 block of Downman Road in cooperation with the U.S. Marshals.

 

Ritisha Martin (DOB: 5/3/1993) for an aggravated battery that occurred at Basin Street and North Robertson Street on February 5, 2017. Martin was also arrested for fugitive attachments from Kenner and Jefferson Parish and a municipal attachment from New Orleans.  She was apprehended in the 3300 block of Edenborn Street in cooperation with HANO Police.

 

Ryan Miller (DOB: 3/26/1992) for carjacking, second degree battery and simple battery. The incident occurred at West I-10 and South Carrollton Avenue on January 29, 2017, and Miller was apprehended in Texas in cooperation with U.S. Marshals.

 

Stanley Jenkins (DOB: 6/20/1979) for an aggravated burglary in the 8600 block of Dill Street on February 4, 2017. Jenkins was also arrested on separate open items including: aggravated assault domestic, domestic abuse battery, and false imprisonment that occurred at 8600 block of Bill Street; simple assault, simple criminal damage, improper telecommunication, and simple criminal damage to property that occurred in the first block of Vivan Court. He was apprehended in the 8500 block of Dinkins Street in cooperation with HANO Police.

 

Daniel Plaisance (DOB: 12/10/1967) for simple robbery and domestic simple battery. The incident occurred in the 600 block of Common Street and Plaisance was apprehended in the 3100 block of Allo Street in cooperation with the U.S. Marshals.

 

Yvonka Wilson (DOB:  10/7/1969) for a simple robbery and false imprisonment incident that occurred in the 6300 block of Chef Menteur Highway on February 9, 2016. Wilson was apprehended in the 2600 block of North Broad Street.

 

Hans Legario (DOB: 8/14/1995) for sexual battery. He was arrested in the 3300 block of Edenborn Street in Metairie, Louisiana, in cooperation with the U.S. Marshals.

 

Benjamin Walker (DOB: 1/24/1993) for a business burglary in the 4200 block of Chef Menteur Highway on February 3, 2017. He was arrested in the 1500 block of Elysian Fields Avenue in cooperation with HANO Police.

 

Queinton Duplessis (DOB: 8/28/1993) for simple battery domestic and simple criminal damage to property. The incident occurred in the 1500 block of Kabel Drive on January 23, 2017, and Duplessis was arrested in the 2800 block of Perdido Street in cooperation with HANO Police.

 

Aaron Schweiger (DOB: 6/25/1987) for second degree battery. The incident occurred in the 200 block of North Carrollton Avenue and Schweiger surrendered to detectives at 2800 Perdido Street. He was apprehended in cooperation with HANO Police.

 

Lisa Courtney (DOB: 1/2/1986) and Ulyesses Deer (DOB: 5/2/93) for aggravated burglary at Canal and Bourbon streets. Both were wanted in Rankin County, Mississippi, and they were apprehended in cooperation with U.S. Marshals.

 

Gregory Hill (DOB: 8/9/1983) for two fugitive attachments for eight counts of attempted murder and probation for drug violations. Hill was wanted by Hammond Police Department and the U.S. Marshals and was apprehended in cooperation with U.S. Marshals and HANO Police.

 

Ronald Brooks (DOB: 9/16/1982) on a parole violation for conspiracy to commit murder. The incident took place in the 12000 block of I-10 Service Road. The incident occurred at 2700 Tulane Avenue on August 11, 2016, and Brooks was apprehended in cooperation with HANO Police.

 

In addition, VOWS apprehended three juveniles wanted for aggravated burglary, simple burglary, aggravated battery and attempted auto theft.

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) is responsible for tracking down individuals who are wanted for serious crimes and apprehending suspects with outstanding warrants. This unit operates within the NOPD’s Special Operations Division and works in conjunction with the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Task Force. In 2016 the unit was responsible from more than 500 arrests.
