Suspect Wanted for Arson After Attempting to Open an ATM with a Blow Torch

The NOPD needs assistance in locating and identify a man responsible for using a blow torch to open an ATM machine.

The incident happened on February 7, 2017. At around 6:25 a.m., the suspect was seen attempting to gain entry into an ATM machine located in the 1700 block of Eagle Street. The suspect then pulls out a blow torch from a shopping cart and attempts to gain entry by using the torch but was unsuccessful.

The suspect was seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, baseball cap, black female wig, black pants, white latex gloves and cream colored shoes. The subject is described as being approximately 6’0” and appeared to have on multiple layers of clothing.

Officers are currently investigating to see if this suspect is responsible for a similar incident that occurred on Monday (Feb. 6) in the 1300 block of South Carrollton Avenue.
