The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this evening (December 7, 2022) at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and Gentilly Boulevard that left two people dead.
At about 4:31 p.m., NOPD Third District officers responded to a call of shots fired at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male and a teenaged juvenile female down in a parking and both having sustained gunshot wounds. The female victim was declared deceased on scene. The male victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was declared deceased
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victims and official causes of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
