NOPD Quickly Arrests Suspect in Eighth District Shooting Incident

The NOPD quickly arrested Chez Everett (pictured, black male, DOB: 03-09-1981) in the investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting incident in the 500 block of Bourbon Street on December 3, 2021.

At about 1:23 a.m., NOPD Eighth District Bourbon Promenade officers were patrolling the area when they observed a large group of people exiting a business in the area. Upon arrival to investigate, they observed a male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.  During the course of investigation, officers identified and arrested Everette at the scene. A search of Everette’s person revealed a handgun and amounts of marijuana, Ecstasy pills and an unknown narcotic substance.

Everette was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for the following charges: aggravated battery by shooting, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal carrying of a weapon while in possession of narcotics, illegal discharge of a firearm while in commission of a violent crime and for possession of a firearm on the premises of an ABO
