NOPD Investigating Christmas Day Shooting, Homicide in the Seventh District

NEW ORLEANS - The NOPD is investigating a shooting that lead to the death of a 14-year old boy in the Seventh District on December 25, 2020. 

At around 10:12 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of aggravated battery by shooting at the intersection of Lake Forrest Boulevard and Bullard Avenue.   Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim (DOB: 11/14/06) suffering from a gunshot wound.  He was transported to the hospital by EMS in critical condition.  The victim died from his injuries on December 28, 2020.  Upon his death, the signal for the incident changed to homicide by shooting and the case transferred to NOPD’s Homicide Division.

Investigators continue to gather evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for the incident, as well as a motive. 

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim’s name upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
