NOPD Arrests Juvenile for Attempted Murder and Carjacking

The NOPD has arrested a juvenile subject wanted for attempted murder and carjacking.

On December 18, 2020, the Violent Offenders Warrant Squad (VOWS) and the US Marshal's Service arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male (DOB: 6/13/2003) on an outstanding warrant for attempted murder and carjacking.

On Sunday, November 15, 2020 around 2:26 p.m., a 61-year-old female victim was carjacked in the 1700 block of Monroe Street. During the robbery the arrested juvenile repeatedly punched and elbowed the victim in the face and head.

The victim was dragged by her vehicle as the arrested juvenile attempted to drive the vehicle from the scene.

Before fleeing the area, the arrested juvenile rolled over the victim with the vehicle, breaking her pelvis, hip and one of her ribs. The victim also sustained a concussion.
