NOPD Investigating Homicide in Sixth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (December 27, 2019) at the intersection of South Liberty and Terpsichore streets.

At about 11:48 a.m., NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the block. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive male seated inside of a car and having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive. No further information is available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim’s name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
