Suspect Sought in Residential Burglary on North White Street

The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public in locating and identifying a subject who is wanted in connection with a simple burglary incident that occurred in the First District.

On November 22, 2018, the victim’s gold 2004 Honda CRV, bearing Louisiana license plate #LPZRM334, was stolen in the 1400 block of North White Street. The victim also advised that the keys to her silver 2004 Saturn VUE, bearing Louisiana license plate #YHV819, and house keys were inside of her CRV at the time of the theft.

The reporting person told police that on December 1, 2018, he and the victim were asleep inside the residence when they heard the engine start to their vehicle. The victim reportedly relocated outside of the residence and observed someone inside of their 2004 Pontiac GTO, bearing Louisiana license plate #805ALN.

The victim reportedly attempted to stop the subject from stealing their vehicle, by standing behind the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle allegedly attempted to maneuver the vehicle, at which time the vehicle struck a second story staircase to the residence that landed on the victim. The subject then fled on foot.

The subject was described as a black male in a green hoodie that zipped up. The victim was transported to the hospital for medical treatment which required surgery. The victim was later listed in stable condition.

The reporting person advised officers that his 2006 Saturn VUE, bearing Louisiana license plate #YHV819, was also missing from the location. He also stated that his key bowl, which was located inside his residence with the Pontiac keys, was missing. The reporting person believes the subjects entered the residence through the rear door, which he noticed was not locked and stole a phone and the Pontiac car keys.

Anyone with any additional information regarding this incident is asked to contact First District detectives at 504-658-6010. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
