NOPD Investigating Homicide, Shooting on General Myers Avenue

NOPD Investigating Homicide, Shooting on General Myers Avenue

The NOPD is investigating a double shooting that occurred tonight, December 25, 2018 near the intersection of General Myers Avenue and Casimier Street that left an adult male victim dead and a second adult female victim injured.

At about 5:19 p.m., Fourth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. The adult male victim, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers located the female victim across the street suffering from a gunshot wound(s) to the leg. She was listed in stable condition.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the decedent’s official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
