The NOPD is investigating a shooting that left an adult male victim dead on Tuesday, December 25, 2018.
At around 8:42 a.m., Sixth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 2500 block of Clara Street. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
The victim was transported to the hospital by EMS where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators are still in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify a person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
