NOPD Investigates First District Traffic Fatality

NOPD Investigates First District Traffic Fatality

The NOPD is investigating a First District traffic fatality that occurred on December 20, 2018.

NOPD officers responded to a call involving a traffic accident near the intersection of Tulane Avenue and S. Cortez Street, just after 8 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers discovered one adult male victim suffering from injuries after being struck by the driver of a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe.

The victim was transported to University Medical Center to receive treatment for his injuries. The victim later succumbed to his injuries.

The Coroner’s office will determine an official cause of death and release the victim’s identity upon completion of autopsy and notification of family members.
