NOPD Identifies Suspect in Aggravated Assault on Belleville Street

NOPD officers are searching for Cedric Johnson (DOB: 06/20/1984) after he was accused of aggravated assault with a firearm in the 1300 block of Belleville Street.

The victim told police that on December 6, 2018, at or around 7:45 a.m., she asked Johnson to move his vehicle, due to the fact that he was blocking the neighbor’s vehicle. Johnson and the victim reportedly engaged in an altercation, at which time the subject placed his hands around the victim’s neck and started applying pressure.

The victim stated that she advised Johnson to leave her residence and the subject relocated outside the residence. Johnson allegedly forced his way back into the victim’s residence with a handgun and threatened to kill the victim, before fleeing the scene.

Anyone with any information regarding Johnson’s whereabouts is asked to notify Fourth District detectives at 504-658-5040. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
