NOPD Arrests Suspect on Bourbon Street for Illegal Possession of Firearm

The NOPD arrested Stanson Dorsey (DOB: 09-16-1997), after he was found to be in illegal possession of a firearm in the 300 block of Bourbon Street on December 25, 2018.

At or about 10:45 p.m., officers in the NOPD Eighth District’s Bourbon Street Promenade Unit were on patrol in the 300 block of Bourbon Street when they observed an object inside of a male subject’s tight-fitting shirt. Upon further investigation, the subject, identified as Dorsey, was found to be concealing a handgun fitted with a laser sighting mechanism. The handgun was also found to be loaded with live ammunition. Dorsey was found to not have a concealed carry permit for the weapon.

Dorsey was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for illegal carrying of a weapon (concealed handgun).

A booking photo of Dorsey was not available as of this writing.
