NOPD Arrests Suspect in Burglary on Hayne Boulevard

The NOPD has arrested Leroy Thornton (DOB: 12-09-1991) in connection with a burglary of an inhabited dwelling that occurred on December 3, 2018 in the 9500 block of Hayne Boulevard.

NOPD Seventh District Detectives conducting a follow-up investigation into the incident received information that a recently hired maintenance worker at the location was reportedly responsible for the incident. Upon further investigation, Thornton was developed as the alleged perpetrator and a search warrant was obtained. Detectives executing the search warrant were able to locate the property reported stolen during the incident, including a reported stolen firearm.

Thornton was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
