Suspect Wanted for Aggravated Assault on Piety & Burgundy Streets

The NOPD is looking to locate Devin Rhinehart (DOB: 04/24/97) for aggravated assault with a firearm and felon in possession of a firearm.

The incident happened on November 27, 2017. At about 4:45 p.m., the victim was crossing the street when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The victim hurried across the street to avoid being struck by the vehicle and tossed his drink at the vehicle in the process. The driver, later determined to be Rhinehart, stopped the vehicle and then exited the vehicle, brandishing a handgun. The perpetrator pointed the handgun at the victim’s head and threatened him before fleeing the scene.

The victim obtained the license plate of the perpetrator’s vehicle and notified the police as the subject fled the scene.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives positively identified Rhinehart as the perpetrator of this incident.
