Suspect Arrested for Aggravated Assault, Giving False Name

The NOPD arrested James Kiesner (DOB:01-13-94) for aggravated assault and flight from an officer by falsely identifying himself to police.

The incident happened on December 25, 2017.  The arrested subject was panhandling at the intersection of S. Carrollton and S. Claiborne avenues around 10:00 a.m. Kiesner then started shooting a BB gun at a victim after the victim refused to give him money.

During the investigation, the arrested subject told Second District officers that his name was Joshua Ford (DOB:03-03-93). As the investigation progressed, officers discovered his name to be James Kiesner.

Kiesner was transported to Central Lockup where he was booked accordingly.
