NOPD Seeking Suspect in Aggravated Assault on South Carrollton Avenue

The NOPD is seeking information to assist in identifying and locating a suspect seen on surveillance video in connection with an aggravated assault in the 3600 block of South Carrollton Avenue on November 28, 2017.

At about 6:58 p.m., the depicted subject reportedly attempted to steal candy from the Family Dollar in the area. When approached by loss prevention, the unknown subject became upset and instructed the victim to step outside to fight. The victim told police he agreed and went to his vehicle to put away his watch. At this time, the unknown subject got into his vehicle and left the location in a silver sedan with dark tinted windows. A short time later the subject returned and re-initiated contact with the victim. During the conversation the subject allegedly pulled a dark colored semi-automatic pistol from his waistband and swung it around in a manner that made the victim feel threatened. The suspect then fled the scene in the same silver sedan .

The suspect is described as a black male believed to be approximately 40 years old, dressed in all black with a bald head, widely gapped teeth with gold caps and a tear drop tattoo under his left eye.
