NOPD Arrests Suspects for Possessing Firearms, Narcotics

NOPD Second District officers arrested Fabian Earls (DOB:11/19/92) and Anthony Williams (DOB: 06/20/1985) after they were found to be in possession of firearms and narcotics.

The incident happened on December 13, 2017. At about 12:03 p.m., Second District officers observed a gray Pontiac four-door vehicle with its temporary tag improperly displayed at the intersection of South Carrollton Avenue and Belfast Street. Officers then conducted a stop of the vehicle at the intersection.

Upon approaching the passenger side of the vehicle, officers observed the passenger--- later identified as Earls --- seated with his hand resting on top of what officers believed to be a firearm. Officers ordered the subject not to move and then removed the firearm, while also locating a second handgun in the front pocket of his hooded sweatshirt.

The driver, later identified as Williams, stated to officers that he gave Earls one of the handguns prior to officers approaching the vehicle.

Through the course of the investigation, officers also confiscated more than a pound of marijuana and an assault rifle fully loaded with ammunition.

Both suspects were transported to Central Lockup and booked accordingly.

Anyone with any other information on the incident or subjects can contact any Second District detective at 504-658-6020. Citizens with information that can help solve a crime are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
