NOPD Arrests Subject in Seventh District Home Invasion, Burglaries

The NOPD arrested a subject in connection with multiple Seventh District burglaries.

On December 8, 2017 around 12:23am, Seventh District officers responded to multiple burglaries in progress in the 4600 block of Chrysler Street and 4600 block of Corinne Streets.

Upon arrival officers located and arrested Shemika Davis (DOB: 10/30/1975) inside a residence.

Officers were able to apprehend Davis after she attempted to bite and kick at the officers.

At the conclusion of the investigation it was determined that Davis broke into one residence and attacked the homeowner when confronted.

She is also accused of attempting to break into a second residence by breaking out a window, and was ultimately apprehended inside a third residence.

As a precaution Davis was transported to the hospital for a possible drug overdose.

When released from the hospital, Davis will be charged with attempted simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, home invasion, theft, and resisting an officer with violence.
