NOPD Arrests Man for Two Armed Robberies

The NOPD has arrested a man in connection with a pair of armed robberies that happened in the Sixth and Seventh Districts.

 

Derrick Robins (DOB: 7-28-1999) was arrested on December 14, 2017 at his home in the 13000 block of Cherbourg Street.

 

Robbins’ arrest was the result of a joint collaboration between the Seventh District and Sixth District Detective Units.

 

Robins was wanted for two counts of armed robbery.

 

The first incident occurred on November 14, 2017 in the 4900 block of Alsace Street. In that incident, Robins is accused of robbing a woman of her iPhone and cash.

 

About two and a half hours later, Robins is accused of robbing a second woman in the Sixth district at the intersection of General Pershing and Constance Street. In that incident, a second rose colored iPhone as well as cash was taken from the victim.

 

Robins was apprehended with the assistance of the VOWS unit during the execution of a high risk search warrant.
