Suspect Arrested After Burglarizing Home on Bruxelles Street

NOPD Eighth District officer Cyril Evans quickly arrested David Lee Rhines (DOB: 03/05/1990) on Wednesday (Nov. 30) after Rhines was identified as a suspect in a burglary reported on Bruxelles Street earlier that day.

At around 12:30 p.m., a witness saw Rhines leaving the front door of a home with a black bag in the 2600 block of Bruxelles Street. The witness eventually approached Rhines stating that he was calling the police. The homeowner then met up with the witness who saw the suspect leaving his home. At around 2:00 p.m., an Eighth District officer responded to a call of the homeowner following the burglary suspect in the 1000 block of Decatur Street.

NOPD officer Evans eventually apprehended Rhines in the 1000 block of Decatur Street.  Third District detectives then relocated to the residence and observed a broken window and missing tool items from the home on Bruxelles.

Rhines was booked with simple burglary and criminal damage in the amount of $350.00.
