The NOPD has made an arrest in the October homicide of Charmaine Scott.
On October 15, 2016, at approximately 10:30 a.m. am, NOPD officers responded to a call of a female who had been shot at Clara Street and Jackson Avenue. Upon arrival they found an unresponsive female lying face down on a sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds to the head area. The victim, later identified as Scott, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Through the subsequent investigation, NOPD Homicide Detective Robert Barrere developed Nicole Williams (DOB: 12-24-1974) as a suspect. Based on Detective Barrere’s investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for Williams, and on December 1, 2016, Homicide detectives and Sixth District officers located Williams and arrested her for second degree murder. She has been booked at the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office.
