NOPD Arrests Suspect in an April 2016 Homicide on Piety Street

The NOPD VOWS unit today (Dec 10) arrested Renaldo Green (DOB: 3/13/1992) in connection with the murder of Anthony Paul (DOB: 8/5/1959) in the 1000 block of Piety Street. The incident occurred on April 28, 2016.

At about 3:48 p.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call relative to an unclassified death at a residence in the area. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered the body of an unknown victim located behind the residence. After further investigation, the victim was identified as a 56-year-old Anthony Paul. The incident was also reclassified as a homicide.

During the course of the investigation, Green was developed as a suspect. Detective Theophillus Kent was able to obtain an arrest warrant for Second Degree Murder.

Around 6 p.m.Violent Offender Warrant Squad officers arrested Green in the 3700 block of Cadillac Street, without incident.
