Donut Shop Robber Captured on Video

NOPD is looking for the perpetrator who robbed a donut shop on Caton Street this afternoon (Dec. 27).

 

At approximately 12:49 p.m. today an unknown black male pulled a gun on an employee of Daddy's Donuts in the 2000 block of Caton. The suspect, captured on surveillance video, then took money from the cash register and fled the scene. 

 

He was wearing a khaki fishing hat, a red short-sleeve shirt, faded blue jeans, and black shoes. The suspect was armed with a small black semiautomatic handgun.

Armed Robbery

In Louisiana, an armed robbery conviction requires the offender to be imprisoned at hard labor for 10 – 99 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. When a firearm is used in the commission of the crime, the offender will be imprisoned for an additional 5 years that will be served consecutively to the original sentence.
