NOPD Continues to Seek Information in Ongoing Homicide Investigation

NOPD Homicide Section detectives continue to seek information in their investigation of a homicide incident reported on April 19 in the 15000 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

On April 19, an unresponsive adult male was found in an undeveloped area in the 15000 block of Chef Menteur Highway. New Orleans EMS confirmed the victim to be deceased and the incident was initially categorized as an unclassified death. Upon further investigation and autopsy, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office on April 23 identified the victim as 34-year-old Chad Verret and determined cause of death to be from gunshot-related injuries. Verret had been reported missing prior to his discovery.

Detectives continue to gather evidence and information in their investigation of this incident, including searching for the perpetrator(s). No additional details regarding this investigation are currently available.
