The NOPD is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a Person of Interest in a homicide that occurred on April 23, 2023.
On the date shortly before 9:00 p.m., officers were called to the 1000 block of Odeon Street for a reported shooting. Upon arrival they found 36-year-old Ellis Brown suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken by EMS to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Through investigation, detectives identified Tameka Watts, (pictured, black female DOB:06-05-1979) as a person of interest in this investigation.
She is not wanted in this incident, but detectives believe she may have information pertinent to the investigation.
