NOPD Investigating Auto Theft Incident in Third District

The NOPD is investigating a reported auto theft incident that occurred on July 30, 2023, in the 3900 block of Tulane Avenue.

At about 1:41 p.m., officers met with the reporting person, who stated that he had scheduled a company to transport his vehicle – a purple Mercedez-Benz GT 630 with no license plate information (pictured at top) – from New Orleans to Austin, Texas for a client. The reporting person stated that on July 30, he had met with two black males (pictured at bottom) reportedly from the contracted company and paid them for the transport. The subjects then reportedly took possession of the vehicle and placed it on a transport trailer attached to a dark-colored Dodge Ram pickup truck with an extended bed. After one instance of contact approximately two hours later, the reporting person has not heard from the subjects and the vehicle has not yet been reported as being delivered. The vehicle also contains multiple personal items.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is urged to contact NOPD Third District detectives at 504-658-6030. Those wishing to report information anonymously can do so by calling Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
