NOPD Identifies Wanted Suspect in Fourth District Domestic Aggravated Assault

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Michael Lewis (pictured, black male, DOB: 09-19-1984) in the investigation of a domestic aggravated assault incident on August 5, 2021 in the 200 block of Berkley Drive.

Through investigation, NOPD Fourth District detectives determined that on August 4 at about 3:00 a.m., Lewis allegedly pointed a gun at the victim and threatened to kill the victim. Lewis then reportedly became involved in a physical altercation with the victim and several members of the victim’s family, including minors, and then fled the scene in possession of the victim’s gun.

When located, Lewis will be arrested on two counts of domestic aggravated assault – child endangerment, one count of domestic abuse battery and one count of illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Anyone with additional information on this incident or on Michael Lewis’ whereabouts is asked to contact NOPD Fourth District detectives at 504-658-6040 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
