NOPD Identifies Wanted Suspect in Fourth District Aggravated Battery

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Tamya Carter (pictured, black female, DOB: 02-21-2003) in the investigation of an aggravated battery on August 13, 2021 in the 3600 block of General de Gaulle Drive.

At about 2:30 p.m., the perpetrator reportedly entered a business with a gun in her right hand, approached the victim from behind and struck the victim multiple times in the face and head area with the listed firearm. The perpetrator then reportedly placed the handgun in her waistband, picked up a broken bottle off of the floor, and continued to strike the victim in the face and head area with the broken bottle. The incident resulted in the victim sustaining several severe head and face injuries.

Through investigation, NOPD Fourth District detectives developed and positively identified Carter as the perpetrator in this incident. She is wanted on one count of aggravated battery.
