NOPD Arrests Suspect in Second District Shooting

On August 16, 2021, the NOPD arrested Irvin Clark (pictured, black male, DOB: 07-28-1975) in the investigation of a shooting on August 13 in the 8600 block of Belfast Street.

The victim in this incident was reportedly walking in the area when he heard a gunshot and realized had has been struck in the leg. The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital.

Through investigation, NOPD Second District detectives developed and positively identified Clark as the perpetrator in this incident. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant, and Clark was located and arrested without incident. At the time of his arrest, Clark was found to be in possession of a firearm.

Clark was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for aggravated second-degree battery, felon in possession of a firearm and illegal possession of a firearm.
