NOPD Announces Violent Crime Arrests, Clearances Between August 15-21

Listed below are arrests or clearances by warrant obtained between August 15-21, 2021 in violent crime investigations by the NOPD:

Homicide

  • On August 18, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives arrested Larry Isaac (pictured, black male, DOB: 04-21-1991) for second-degree murder. The incident occurred at the intersection of Dwyer Road and Wilson Avenue on August 6.

Shootings

  • On August 16, NOPD Second District detectives arrested Irvin Clark (pictured, black male, DOB: 07-28-1975) for aggravated battery by shooting and possession of a firearm or carrying of a concealed weapon by a person convicted of domestic abuse battery. The incident occurred in the 8600 block of Belfast Street on August 13.
  • On August 17, NOPD Fifth District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Gerald Collins (photo not available, black male, DOB: 01-02-1990) for aggravated battery by shooting and possession of a firearm or carrying of a concealed weapon by a person convicted of domestic abuse battery. The incident occurred in the 3300 block of Clouet Street on August 17.
  • On August 18, NOPD Seventh District officers arrested Juan Gutierrez (not pictured, Hispanic male, DOB: 09-20-1961) for aggravated battery by shooting. The incident occurred in the 7900 block of Chef Menteur Highway on August 18.

Armed Robbery

  • On August 21, NOPD Sixth District arrested a 16-year-old juvenile male (not pictured) for armed robbery, possession of stolen things, juvenile in possession of a firearm and attempted theft of a motor vehicle. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Loyola Avenue on August 20.
