The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this evening (August 5, 2020) at the intersection of Curran Boulevard and Buffalo Road.
At about 7:34 p.m., a male victim with a gunshot wound to the back arrived via private conveyance at a local hospital. The victim later died, at which time NOPD Homicide Unit detectives assumed control of the investigation. Through further investigation, detectives determined the aforementioned location to be where the victim was reportedly shot.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of an autopsy and notification of family.
