UPDATE: Suspect Arrested Seventh District Auto Theft

UPDATE: The pictured subjects arrived at the NOPD Seventh District station on August 1 in connection with this incident.

The pictured male subject, identified as Darrin Williams (DOB: 08-11-1994) admitted to taking the victim’s vehicle. He was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for auto theft.

The pictured female subject was released without being charged in this investigation.

 

ORIGINAL RELEASE: The NOPD is seeking to locate and identify two subjects in the investigation of an auto theft that occurred on August 1 in the 6000 block of Bullard Avenue.

At approximately 9:37 a.m., the pictured male reportedly picked up the victim’s rental vehicle keys, which were left on a bench at the Walmart in the 6000 block of Bullard Avenue. Both the male and pictured female then exited the business, located the vehicle by using the panic button on the vehicle’s key fob and then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a black 2019 GMC Canyon bearing Texas license plate LGY4432.
