UPDATE: Suspect Arrested for Multiple Business Burglaries in Eighth District

UPDATE: On Saturday, August 3, 2019 NOPD Eighth District officers apprehended Tramaine Williams (DOB: 05-07-1986) in connection with the below reported burglary incidents. Officers located Williams at a hotel with several reported stolen items in his possession, ranging from Apple iPhones to Apple iPads and Samsung tablets.

Williams was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for four counts of unauthorized entry of a business, four counts of illegal possession of stolen things and on drug possession charges.

ORIGINAL RELEASE (ISSUED AUG. 2, 2019): The NOPD is seeking assistance in identifying and locating a subject believed to be responsible for three business burglaries in the Eighth District.

The incidents occurred on July 20, 2019 in the 900 block of Canal Street at about 4:59 a.m.; August 1, 2019 in the 1300 block of Canal Street at about 10:03 p.m.; and on August 2, 2019 in the 100 block of Iberville Street at about 2:24 a.m.

During all three incidents, the subject entered into hotels via the lobby, and made his way to office areas, where he forced his way into the offices. The subject removed tablets, IPads, cell phones, and other items from the locations.
