NOPD Investigating Homicide in Third District

 

The NOPD is investigating a homicide by shooting that took place in the 8900 block of Marks Street on Thursday, August 1, 2019.

At around 4:34 p.m., Third District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim inside a home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.

Investigators are still currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
