The NOPD is investigating a fatal double shooting that claimed the lives of two adult males in the Seventh District.
On August 22, 2019 around 5 p.m., officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 6700 block of Chef Menteur Highway. Upon arrival, officers discovered two adult male victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were pronounced dead on scene by EMS.
Investigators are still currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
