ARRESTED: Suspect Apprehended by NOPD for Aggravated Battery on Wilson Avenue

NOPD officers have arrested Douglas Vanderzee (DOB: 10/27/1992) in connection with an aggravated battery incident that occurred in the 4100 block of Wilson Avenue.

On August 3, 2019 around 9:00 a.m.,  the victim and the pictured subject were involved in a verbal altercation which turned physical.

The subject allegedly struck the victim in the head with a shovel, causing the victim to fall to the ground and lose consciousness.

Vanderzee was apprehended without incident and transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center where he was booked accordingly.
